Kevin Cox

Kevin is the founder and president of LKC Advisory, a leadership advisory firm partnering with CEOs and CHROs to maximize the full potential of organizations and their leadership teams. Typical engagements center on CEO succession and advisory services to both CEOs and CHROs. Kevin retired as GE’s Chief Human Resources Officer in April of 2024, and previously served as CHRO of American Express and Pepsi Bottling Group. 

Known to many as “The Dean of CHROs”, Kevin established a reputation as both a business and thought leader with over 25 years of CHRO experience across three different industries. He focuses extensively on driving business results through the unique intersection of strategy, culture, and talent. Kevin has significant
boardroom experience, having served as a director of a several companies, as well as providing human capital, succession, and compensation leadership to the boards of GE, Amex, and PBG.

Kevin led the development of the Model of a World Class CHRO, a framework widely regarded as the definitive guide to maximizing the value of the CHRO. He is currently an Executive Fellow at the Cornell Center for Advanced Human Resources Studies (CAHRS) and a Senior Strategic Advisor at the Center for Executive Succession (CES). Additionally, he serves on the Board of the National Academy of Human Resources (NAHR), is and is an emeritus member of Gartner’s CHRO Leadership Board.

Kevin was the founder of both the Health Transformation Alliance (HTA) and CES. Kevin has previously served as a board member of the Human Resources Policy Association (HRPA) and is a former Chairman of the CAHRS advisory board. Kevin was inducted as Distinguished Fellow by the National Academy of HR (2024), the highest honor in the HR profession.

Outside of work, Kevin enjoys an eclectic taste in music, and is an instrument rated private pilot.
